THIS is the fascinating abandoned house, complete with mystery portraits and homely items, that has been dubbed - crooked cottage. The mystery building located somewhere in rural Hertfordshire is rumoured to have had a husband and wife living there. According to hearsay, the husband died and the wife tried to live alone but became ill and was put into care. However no-one ever returned to collect the couple’s belongings. Whatever the truth, a 1950s home stands almost untouched apart from decades of dust and clutter which is now strewn across the lopsided relic.
