Amber Baskerville, 30, started dating Craig Chard, 34, in October 2021. Soon after, he became controlling, so in January 2022, Amber asked him to leave. But Craig couldn't accept it and attacked Amber. He was arrested for assault and held in prison on remand. But whilst there, Craig convinced Amber to drop the charges. In April 2022, he was released from prison and scared Amber into meeting him. A week later, he turned up at her house and subjected her to a brutal 10-hour attack, where he punched her in the face, kicked her in between her legs and dragged her to a park where he kicked her until she was unconscious. Craig pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a restraining order/harassment, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of threats to kill. In April this year, he was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison at Reading Crown Court.
