'DYING’ SCARE SAVES 3ST ANOREXIC

AN anorexic woman whose heart stopped after she starved herself to 3st has revealed that ‘dying’ for a minute helped shock her into recovery. Rebecca McIntyre, 21, from Belfast, Northern Ireland, became a shadow of her former self after she became addicted to restricting food due to the pressures of her GCSE exams. At her worst, her organs began to fail and she weighed just 3st 6lbs – the weight of an average six-year-old. Doctors battled to save her life after she collapsed at home and her heart stopped. Now fully recovered, Rebecca says that this gave her the wakeup call she needed to seek treatment for her eating disorder.
