BABY GIVEN THREE PER CENT CHANCE OF LIFE COMES HOME FOR FIRST TIME

A baby who was given just a three per cent chance of survival at birth has beaten the odds to come home - even though docs told his parents to abort him 12 times. Since his birth six months ago, tiny Jacob Reed has spent every day of his life clinging to survival in hospital, fighting an ultra-rare condition. His chances of survival were so slim, that before he was born doctors even told his mother Pippa that she should abort him on a dozen separate occasions. But little Jacob fought on and has finally crossed the threshold of the family home in Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, for the first time. Pippa said: "The doctors all said he had no hope, no hope at all - but now he's home. We were told he had a three per cent chance of survival but as each week passed he just got better and better.
