His chances of survival were so slim, that before he was born doctors even told his mother Pippa that she should abort him on a dozen separate occasions. But little Jacob fought on and has finally crossed the threshold of the family home in Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, for the first time. Pippa said: "The doctors all said he had no hope, no hope at all - but now he's home. We were told he had a three per cent chance of survival but as each week passed he just got better and better.
