BRAIDED, sculpted and beaded, these are the eye-catching hairstyles worn by the tribal women of Angola. Bursting with colour, the unusual styles are the result of thousands of years of Angolan tradition. German banker and photographer Mario Gerth captured the images when he travelled to Angola in southern Africa. The 38-year-old, of Erfurt, Germany, says: “African hairstyles are ever-changing, yet deeply rooted in a shared past stemming from tribal traditions.
