Little Kendal Flitcroft, now one, was not expected to survive and by the age of seven months, the tiny tot had suffered three cardiac arrests and endured two rounds of open heart surgery. The brave youngster from Bangor, County Down in Northern Ireland, was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), which affects just one in 5,000 newborns in the UK. Now, after battling against the odds, she will spend her first Mother's Day at home with her family.
