AQUA-SPINNING has conquered New York and now the fitness fad has wheeled its way across to the UK. The new exercise-sensation that caused a storm in the US this summer is now available to the British public at local pools across the UK.Aqua-spin classes see up to 11 spinning machines installed into the bottom of swimming pools with an instructor drilling the class in a programme designed especially for underwater spinning.Burning more calories than traditional spin-classes without the need to get hot and sweaty aqua-spin is being touted as the best of both worlds.A typical 45-minute aqua-spin session will burn around 900 calories compared to 500 calories during a conventional spin class.Pictures show one class of young professionals taking part in an aqua-spin class at the Croydon Park Hotel, London.
