AIRPORT staff have been put on alert after diet pills that come in grenade shaped containers sparked security alerts. The product, called 'Grenade' has been confiscated at some UK airports under EU regulations banning air passengers from carrying anything that could be mistaken for a real weapon and may cause "alarm". 'Grenade' is the brainchild of Birmingham husband and wife, Alan and Juliet Barratt, who are sticking to their guns claiming that it is obvious that the "Thermo Detenator" pill containers are plastic. Alan Barratt, 36, said: "I can't see how it could be mistaken for a weapon. "For a start, it's about twice the size of a real grenade and made of plastic. "It's no different to a child's toy."We export to Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and we've never had a problem.
