A woman with a fear of flying claims she was humiliated after an Emirates airline staff member told her she could ‘go to prison for four years’ for possessing diazepam medication. On February 15, nervous passenger Karen Young, 40, from Tamworth, Staffs, was reduced to tears while checking in to her Emirates flight to Dubai, after she informed airline staff at Birmingham Airport that she was carrying the drug to help with her anxiety. But, instead of putting her at ease before the flight, Ms Young alleges staff repeatedly told her that diazepam was a banned substance in Dubai and that she would be ‘locked up’ for being in possession of the drug.
