Two dogs who couldn't keep their paws off each other have been united in matrimonial bliss after their owners shelled out $10,000 on a lavish canine wedding ceremony. Dog lovers Ann Carter, 70, and her friend Ernie Rubin, 67, invited 100 of their closest friends - and their dogs - to witness the marriage of their two pets, Snickers and Scruffy. Five-year-old bride Scruffy, a Jack Russell and chihuahua cross, wearing white, strode down a fake grass carpet aisle to meet her toyboy lover Snickers, three, with whom she has developed an unbreakable bond ever since their owners introduced them. Standing under a flower-decorated trellis, groom Snickers, a Lhasa Apso, waited anxiously before riding off into the sunset with his new spouse in a buggy made for two. Snickers's owner Ann, from Palm Desert, California, said the lovestruck pooches only have eyes for each other and ever since their engagement on Valentine's Day - sealed with a Swarovski crystal dog collar- the dogs have been eager to tie the knot.
