A mum-of-two has revealed how her childhood friend of 20 years attacked her with a cosh and broke her nose in a vicious attack. Stephanie Ayre-McManus, 32, from South Tyneside, was left with a permanent scar on her nose and now suffers seizures and migraines as a result of Robert Averre’s mindless actions. Last month, the 33-year-old pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon, and received an 18 -month suspended sentence. Now, Stephanie is speaking out to raise awareness of senseless violence and the devastating impact it leaves on victims.
