A university graduate who was obsessed with achieving a thigh gap has told how she shrunk to just 6st after developing anorexia athletica. At her worst, Kirsty Bonnick, 22, was so desperate to lose weight that she consumed just 500 calories a day. Recovered Kirsty from Newbury, Berkshire, would obsessively exercise up to three hours a day and within a year had dropped from 10st 10lbs to 6st. Her obsession with size was worsened by the growing thigh gap trend, a look popularised on Instagram by users including ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Millie Mackintosh.
